On June 18th, CPCR hosted a workshop for a select group of teachers from school districts in Chiangmai. ‘The Teacher Classroom’ is a program that CPCR’s Child & Family Development Unit developed for teachers to gain more confidence and efficiency in their teaching methods. Last year, CPCR introduced ‘Positive Discipline’ to their child protection programs. This technique has received a ton of positive feedback from many teachers. However, some students continue to show poor behavior, which has caused some teachers to give up and return back to to old techniques, including punishment with a stick, to control their classrooms. CPCR believes that using ‘Positive Discipline’ properly will lead to great benefits for students and teachers. ‘The Teacher Classroom’ trains teachers to implement this technique and build encouraging and safe environments in schools.
